As jointed in an idea, Zlatara Majdanpek, Faculty of Applied Arts - Belgrade, the Museum of Applied Arts - Belgrade, Faculty of Painted Arts - Belgrade and supported by the Ministry of sience and Technology of Serbia Republic, they are the guarantee of quality of the scientific access to new tendencees of development. The appearance of culture as a base of social and trade development on these areas is International Simposium Of Goldsmithing MajdanArt.
MajdanArt it is aim is increasing the cultural activities on the level of demands of the perspective development of all segments of social life from tourism, the existing trade, education, till the very new ways of potencial evaulation of this climate. The scientific access of connection of designing, technologu and marketing in the goldsmithing field throught the specific thematic access, throught the art workshop and following contests, gives special, modern, universal and authentic importance. A wide range of possibilities is very huge, not as an exchange but as the base of future development.
The main work material of Simposium is silver, but it is alluded the possibillity of separate devised material combinations. The following number of technical processes which are at the disposal to the artists by the great assistants and modelling craftsmen: polishing, casting, galvan processing, sand blasting, vaccuming, stamping, forging, heaving of different profiles of wire, rolling mill, rooms for wax processing etc.
Majdanpek a town of about 10.000 citizens, lies in the eastern Serbia. It is mentioned in 1560. for the first time in a Turkish document as a neologism "MEDANI PEK" (MED - old Serbian name for copper and hydronim PEK - word of Greek origin derived from "pekos" which means "sheep fleece"). It has been mining for 7000 years in Majdanpek and its surrounding, with the longer or shorter interruptions, and has asted about 7000 years. Rudna Glava and Prauria localities speak about the fact that Majdanpek is an old mine. Mine resources connected people with this area from the beginning, and there are many certificates about that. Ores, as nature resources, are not restorable resourse and therefore there are alternative accesses in finding out the solutions for future and rexistence of this region.
St. Apostoles Peter And Pavle Church was built by the order of a Duke Aleksandar Karadjordjevic, and by the suggestion of Paun Jankovic, financial minister, who led works for the mine restoring in 1856. Performing the Dukes oreder, that they should build a temple which would be accepted by the Ortodox and Romans, too Uros Knezevic, painter on the court, who was given a building plane of the church, he hase "bondruk" in "swiss style" which was very popular in architecture of Western Europe in that time, and most of needed mining craftsmen came from that region by the appeal of Serbian authorities.
Rajkova Cave is one of the most beautiful cave in our country. Richness of cave jewelry makes it interesting as for the specialists and for the common (ordinary) visitors as well. It belongs to the carst of Dubasnicka area which has more than 1000 carst appearances.
Touristic offer of Majdanpek consists of: Sports Center with the complex of open and closed terains and olpmpic swimming pool, a nd trim cabinet, sauna and rifle range are its following content. There is Winter ski centre "RAJKOVO" near by. It has 3 ski paths with the draft elevator, with the capacity of 1200 skiers per hour. Veliki Zaton Lake is about 2km from town, near Rajkova Cave, and its ideal place for sports fishing and sports on the water.
